I would get LCA`S and anti squat brackets. Be sure to weld them in. I would also get a adjustable UCA. This will help your traction issues and cut some time off of your ET.
I don't have a traction issue. My car dead hooks. I actually like being the slower car (14 seconds at 100mph) and quite able to put 9 and 10 second cars back on their trailers.

Well I am just really tring to help you be more consistant. It seems you are happy where you are now.So I would stick to it.The Tci was not up your alley either, so not sure what to tell you. Usually guys like to go faster, I guess that is not your deal . Well I have won bracket racing last year, and beat the track champ. I guess I do not know what I am talking about. Good luck.

Oh yea my car was owned by the champion of the bracket racing 3 years ago. The car was nearly stock as well. I think it is the driver mod that you may need to work on.

Be careful what you wish for my friend. Quite possible that this time next year I will be pitted between the primer 2nd gen camaro and a black 79 corvette at Bradenton. In the shade under the big trees. Haven't been there yet but have my spot picked out.

Well anyone can win one round on any given day. Takes a full season to be a track champ. Sign up for points and let's compare where were at at the end of the season. On a given day I have beaten the Summit Steet National champ, a Div 1 champ, and local track champs. I have never been a track champ but usually finish in the top 10. I am human and have fubared an easy win to a noobe. Matter of fact last Sunday I was .010 red to a .296 light and .4 over his dial. Difference is that next time out I will be running 5lbs less air in my rear tires and won't go red. Congrats to your one round win.

omg you hit a soft spot. Last time some told me to "bring my wallet" I had my head handed to me. I lost on a .011 package. Next week I brought my wallet again and lost on a .007 package. South jersey boys can race. lol
I've only had a few shots with my shallow 2nd gear 2nd amber deal. I'm gettins killed at RP in Jersey (currently down to #13) but holding my own at Maple Grove in Reading (currently #5). Seems promising and just need to work out a few kinks. Right now the shift is a pain in the a$$,

Okay maybe this is a stupid idea but I'll throw it out there.
I'm not familiar with the Gt stock automatic shifter, but is there anyway you can drill the plastic cover around the shifter then slot the plastic piece in conjunction with the whole you drilled. You would want to slotthe plastic piece that cover the opening the shifter arm moves in? This way you could put a pin in the hole when your racing that will not allow the shifter to move into neutral without removing the pin?
Much like a lock out.
Heck, this is too much thinking!!! That's why I race headsup!! That way I only need to worry about two lights!!
A green light and a win light!

I've never heard of anyone wanting to start in 2nd. I'd guess they could write it into the tune if that's what you really want. I read the rest of your posts and really dont get why you believe 2nd would be better. I'm not a bracket racer, tho I understand the basics, your RT has nothing to do on how the car leaves. The car leaving has everything to do with your ET tho.
I'd give Doug a call and ask him about a tune to start in second.
PLstang: thanks. I was thinking along the same lines. Mabye put a hinge on the console blocking neutral. Another idea is to drill a deeper detent and use stronger springs.
stkjock: The way the car leaves have everything to do with RT.
RT = Drivers Reaction + Cars Reaction. The timers start when the car actually moves forward and the back edge of the front tires roll out of the stage beam. The bean "reconnects" and the timers start. How much and how long it takes to car to move out of the beam is rollout. The driver seeing the light and smashing the gas is the drivers reaction time. The time it takes to car to mover forward and out of the stage beam is the cars reaction. Together is the RT that is on your timeslip. To answer your question of why I leave in second. If I launch in first the car's reaction time is too quick. I go red by -.060. The second gear deal slows the car's reaction so I can leave off the second amber.
RLG34750: same is true on a pro tree. If you need to cut a better light make the car do the work. Make the car leave quicker. Higher tire air pressure and a higher launch rpm will make the car RT quicker. Tons of other things to adjust on the car too like supension, tire diameter, header collector size, tork converter, carb jet size .....etc.
With my current setup I have gone red twice in ten rounds (-.005 and a -.010). I'm not going to change where I hit the tree. Instead I will slow the cars RT down a tad. I can slow the car by lowering the rear tire pressure from 20lbs to 15lbs. Another way to slow the car is to stage at a slight angle. This will increase rollout a bit by making the front tires stay in the beam longer. Again letting the car cut the light.

thanks for the advice ......
but my major concern now is that car is carrying the wheels to high and to far.....
I need to get it to leave flat.....
but thanks anyway.....
