What are the pros and cons of going with a smaller wheel out back.
I know that it is lighter weight , which means quicker times. I am not sure about the handling of the car, and traction.I do not want to loose control .

Yea I am looking into some skinnies for the front and some wheels for the back. Hole shot makes some, and then the Bogarts of course. Still hunting and desciding on what to do. Cost wise it would be cheaper to just get a new set of 17 DR`s.

Price wise it would be cheaper to just go with a 17" dr.......

+1 on the 17's. The 15's are nice but you'll have to relocate the sway bar in the back and message the calipers with a grinder to get them to work.
The ones you posted about would be a problem. You'd need a big spacer because of the design and the brakes. Bogarts would be a much better choice. However, you'd still need to do what i mentioned above.
A 17" with a good DR like an MT/Et street radial should hook good. A MT/ET bias DR would even be better. However, you may not really need them yet.

The 15" tires have more side wall and better absorb the initial shock thereby will hook better. I have used spacers in the past and know of a lot who use them. I never had or heard of any issues but prefer not to use them. The 15" wheels and tires will take $$$$ and work to make them fit. Lighter tires offer more bang for the buck weight reduction wise. Ballpark every 10lbs removed will make your ET faster by .01. As far as going to lighter wheels and tires you are removing unsprung weight and rotation mass which will make you go faster than just removing weight. When I switched to skinnies up front ('95 Firebird) I picked up a full tenth. Some say that having radials up front and bias ply in the rear cause the car to get squirrely on the top end. Personally I have mixed tires on my Firebird and don't have an issue. The car does get squirrely when I have less than 12lbs of air in the back tires. I think your best bet at this point is to get a set of 17" MT ET Street Radials. There tires will hook for you no problem.
