Today was my second time at a track. my first time my best run was a 13.623@95.88mph. This time my best was a 13.354@104.27mph with a 60' of 1.969. Ive been told that with my mods my car should run around a 12.9 but I cant figure out what im doing wrong. How can I improve my quarter mile times?

Suspension and sticky tires are your ticket. You need to go out and have fun most of all. Remember all things that work, write them down if need be. If you are spinning you are loosing time.

Your's isn't bad if you have stock tires. However, you're not going to get the power to the ground affectively on stock tires.
Good news is you're about a tire change away from 12's. Some LCA's wouldn't hurt either as Bkid said!

I have 18 inch wheels with the BFG KDWS tires on the and they're pretty close to being bald. Im thinking about buying the BFG KDWs. Will switching from all season to summer tires make a difference and get me into the 12s?

Those are still a street tire.....
they help some but to really lower that 60' you will need a drag radial or slicks.....

+1 If you want something that will do dual duty look at Nitto DR's. However, the reality is they are not really GREAT for either purpose. They kind of get by for both!
best bet would be a set of good DR's like MT, M&H, or Hoosier on a second set of rims for the track.
If you don't drive your car in the rain MT E/T streets work good on the track and are ok for the street. They just won't last long and you don't want to drive with them in the rain, not for a daily driver!

I agree. Get tires.
To get the best ET stage as shallow as possible. Try to flicker the stage bulb and just tap it on. Elevation will impact your times as weather. Hot humid days means slow ET's. Track prep is another issure. Some tracks don't do squat for test and tune days. Another trick to go faster is to increase your tire pressure. Run as much rear air pressure that allows you to hook. 40-45lbs in the fronts to reduce drag resistance.

4.6 Auto, 3.73 gears, C&L CAI, Diablo 91 octane tune, drag radials, and a saftey loop. What else do I need for a 14 second bracket car?

No you need some Drag radials to get where you want on the track. You will also need some new tires for all around driving. This has probably been mentioned. I just wanted to add my .02 cents.

well ill need a new drive shaft before i got to radials I'm looking at the mickey Thompson DRs for a 17 inch rim. first though I'm getting the Steeda stage one drag pack which comes with LCAs adjustable UCA and an adjustable panhard bar. Will that get me into a 12.9?

i would advice just going with upper & lower control arms
you guys correct me if i'm wrong......
panhard bar's are more of a road race item......
and set of DR's = 12's......

and most importantanly more seat time.....
i wish i could lower my et 3/10's the next time i went to the track.....
overall you had a good day......
What is a good 60' for a 12 second car because I raced a late 70s nova with a 60' of 1.868 vs my 1.969 and he ran a 12.934@104.32 where I ran a 13.354@104.27

if you run a 1.75 60' that will get you into the mid 12's
so your target should 1.79 or less on the 60'

1.724 is my best 60ft so far. I ran a 12.162 so you need to look at getting your 60 ft down to 1.75 . You can do it with the LCA`S,UCA adjustable , anti squat brackets all from Che Performance preferably. Then some Dr`s MT`S preferably. The aluminum drive shaft from Powerhouse is my suggestion. Yes a safety loop for sure.I got mine from Che Performance also. Oh Yea weld the anti squat brackets in as well as bolting them in.
