I believe this is where I have my problems using the line lock.
I guess reading is fundamental.....
are you driving through the water or backing in to the water box....
I drive around and back in until the fronts are just about the hit the wet area, then pull forward until the backs are just about the last part of the wet area. Then start setting the brake.

I'm sure I'm going to get hammered on this one. I always drive through the waterbox. I try to pick a damp area and stay out of the deep puddles. I never spin in the water just drive through. I race at several tracks. One track is set up that you have to go into the water box and another forbids backing up. To keep my routine consistant I do the same thing at every track. On real street tires (very rare occasion) I do go around the water if possible.

Thank you for dragging water up to the starting line.....
Maybe next time you can leave your A/C running too....

Sorry guys my bad. My wife had surgery last week and I haven't gotten a lot of sleep lately. I even missed a points race this past weekend and I'm a little dazed. First points race missed in 7 years. lol. I will try my best to READ.

I don't drag water up. Track crew never had to mop after me. I make around 500 passes a season and I'm sure if I was causing a starting line issue I would of been told by the track if not by my fellow racers.

You really have to shock the tires depending on your setup.
With my THR400 I go in first gear rolling into it. Once they start to spin I pull second and stab it. Then roll out.
Richard with his powerglide and turbo will actually come off the transbrake with the line locks on, bump high then roll out.
It just depends on the car and the setup. The trick is get them rolling then get the tire speed up to 50mph for what ever period the track requires (track temp, conditions, etc). You can shock the tires or you can roll into it. You may have the car trying to push through if you roll into it too slow and that maybe your problem.

Yes, I agree that is my problem (rolling into it) I also get that instinct that I've going to over revv. Yes, I have to find that magic spot to start the burnout. When I did stab it is when it got good burnouts but in the back of my head was is that the right way?

you could install a 2 or 3 step set for burnout RPM
then you would not have to worry about over revving the motor...

That was my thought!
Put it on a two step!
