So…I was kicked out of Raceway Park for not having a cage after one pass…

They told me that in order to find out what I ran I would have to hand in my tech card (I ran against a NT camaro so I had no idea what I ran). The messed up part is how the guy also gave me the option to run a second time, but if I ran again under 11.5 again he would tear both slips up and I would be done for the night (I thought it was a safety issue, so why would you let me run the car yet AGAIN with the likelihood of it running faster than 11.5?) basically the guy was just giving me a hard time, so I opted to just get my first time slip and call it a night. On a side note, my buddy said the left tire came up almost a foot, so I guess it wasn't that bad of a night

Here is what I ran:

60’ - 1.587
1/8 - 7.201
MPH - 95.67
1/4 - 11.324
MPH - 118.27

Overall I am satisfied with this time considering the motor is running very rich (too big of jets in the carb---will be changing soon), needs to have the timing advanced, needs larger headers (so the motor can actually breathe), and left off the foot brake (still didn’t use the transbrake yet, sorry guys).

Looks like for now I will be figuring out the mods mentioned above and looking at 8-point cage kits.

Great time......

It's time for a roll cage, and to strip some more weight to counteract the weight of the cage.......

All tracks are different for T&T nights. I know a few people who run 10's without a rollcage. It's all in the tech inspection......

I had a guy pick apart my '01 one night at Ohio Valley. I tried to explain to him that the car runs high 12-low 13's. He didn't care along with asking me where my rollcage is. I hate racing there anyway. It's only an 1/8th mile track......

E-town has been really rough on that ET rule for about 18 months now. I got a warning at a private rental to slow the car down.

if you want to got again b4 the cage, let out @ the 1/8th on the first few passes then when your ready to go home rip one off

Thanks for the compliment. I know EXACTLY what you mean after last night. Every other time I went I had no problems with inspection, the tech guys were nice and understandable about my situation with the killswitch (relocated battery). The guy I had last night...gave me a hard time about that, INSISTED seeing my helmet as if my word wasn't good enough, asked where my cage was, and gave an overall attitude about my entire car. I think it's a large double standard due to the fact that they allow NEW cars that run lower than 11.5 from the factory to go on without being hacked up by a rolle cage. Oh well...

Thank you. Yeah, I dunno what was up with this tech guy, but he must've been in a bad mood cause he grilled me the entire time through inspection. Ha yeah you think similar to my buddy---he said last night to just run it again as hard as possible to the 1000' mark and then stand on the brakes
