One of the biggest problems people new to drag racing face is ho to leave the line properly.
I think that the TCS gives them a false sense of correction for that problem.
So yeah, it's common to see people run with their TCS on.

Yep, big time and even more so with a manual. I had mine turned off in the tune. I got the little squigly marks on the dash, but it doesn't bother me. When I had the car tuned for nitrous, my tuner asked me if I wanted it turned off permanently and I said yes without hesitation. Spraying with TCS on would be disastrous to say the least.

Yep, TCS and nitrous are not a good combination on S197's.

I have the M/T ET Streets and I'm having the same problem as you Krugen, but I have an "almost" stock 5.0.
Yeah, getting off the line is the hard part when it comes to drag racing. Anyone can mash the gas pedal to the floor and hold on, but it takes practice to get off the line JUST right.
I'm running 18PSI in mine. I went from driving on ice (street tires) to driving on glue (Drag Radials). And what a difference!
Yeah, Reggie is old... I'm surprised he even knew what TCS was!
Here's Reggie's race car...

Wait a minute! Don't you young whipper snappers start with the old guy jokes. Some of us have forgotten more about racing than you'll ever know. In fact we've forgotten a whole lotta stuff, but that's another story.
What were we talking about again? My train of thought seems to have derailed again.
Getting old sucks sometimes, but it sure beats the alternative.

We're not the fastest car at the track but we might be having the most fun.
If you're not having fun, then you're taking this stuff too seriously!

Just giving Reggie a hard time.
Any time I have questions when I'm at the track I tend to go to the older guys for answers. Older people seem to have the faster cars anyways.
Shoot, I'm pretty young (22) and I don't even know much about these newer cars. I've even helped my dad rebuild a couple of flathead Fords but I've never even changed a spark plug in a 4.6...
Old CARS rule!

Mash and hold on. That's exactly how I launch the car when bracket racing. Trick is to get the car to launch exactly the same way every time. Not a easy as it sounds.
