Ok, I know this isn't the Challenger forum, but this is where I hang out so I thought I would share the wife's trip to the track with you guys!!
I'm having to live vicariously through her since my car is locked away till next weekend (can't brake it before the photo shoot)! Since the Shelby's clutch won't be in till tomorrow, I'm down to being the camera man!!
She pretty much just hot lapped the car. She was practicing her launches and getting a feel for the car.
However, she ran a consistent 8.8 all night long!! Big improvement over the 9.5 she was running in the 1/8th before (Compared it to her 1/8th mile times in the 1/4).
The wife is starting to get the hang of it (maybe with a little coaching). I'm sure the tuning we did last week might have had something to do with it!!

Yep!! She knocked 2 tenth's off the 60' and 7 off the 1/8th!!
She made me proud!!
And Reggie, Joe Golden from "Hotrodgossip2" told me I better watch out or she'll be wanting to drive my car next also!!

I know how you feel about withdrawals. I haven't been to the track since last Saturday night, and I already have the DT's. We are going to get it ready for some passes tomorrow night. This will be the last time before the boost gets turned up a few lbs.......

I wish I could get my wife in the drivers seat at a track.
Actually her first real kill was a truck. I didn't video the first or last runs. She made 5 passes and won all 5!
(That was just my best videoing job so I choose that one to post!)

Well we all know I'm a Mustang guy (Heck I got 2 of them), but I have to agree the challenger is a pretty car!!
Yeah, I'm gonna get mine to the track this Saturday and I can't wait! I put it up because Richard didn't want me to break it before the magazine shoot this Tuesday and Wednesday.

Eric i just have one question why wasn't the wife wearing a helmet......
You know Reggie that's a good question!
She was not in the 13's at the 1/4 mile track so it wasn't required (they're pretty strict at HRP).
However, I'm suprised they didn't tell her to put it on at the 1/8th mile track.
What's the cutoff for a helmet in the 1/8th mile? I know HRP (1/4mile) requires one for any times better then 14.00.

NHRA rules for 2009 state that "any car running 13.99 1/4-mile (8.59 1/8-mile) or quicker: requires a Snell K98 or 2000 or newer OR SFI 41.1A helmet
Also a new NHRA rule for '08 requires that "any car running 9.99 or quicker in the 1/4 mile requires an NHRA approved FULL face helmet with visor.
Next time out she will need one.....
