We call that the "penny" situation. Meaning you couldn't squeeze a penny between your butt cheeks......

Yes, that was a scary situation. Glad to hear that you and the car are okay.

I told my brother basically the exact same thing. I said "Dont be afraid to get out of it!"

He and I were lined up a few weeks ago at the track for the first time after we built our motors and his car spins violently when boost kicks in. So we lined up and i had him pretty much the whole race and he started catching me toward the top end and suddenly his front end disappeared.
He had never run low air (12 psi) in is slicks before and at the top end the car started swaying a little and he got scared and let out.

But glad to hear everything worked out for ya! Thats not one of those things you can practice for so glad you were on top of your game!

Wow just read this thread glad that you and the car came out of it ok, the hell with winning when it's your life and safety and stake I'll pick letting off the throttle any day, I've seen alot of races go bad from guys trying to pick up the "W" and not letting off when they should ending in a bad wreck and a trip to the hospital, so once again I'm glad you're alright .

Good to hear that you and the car made it out in one piece. i also agree with the water causing that.

Smart move on lifting when the issue happened. Like stated in the thread may have been a bit of water on the track. Other possibilities are that you got out of the grove. What kind of rear tires are you using and what air pressure. My car gets squirrely if I run less than 13lbs in the QTP's. I have also heard that mixing radials on the front with bias on the rear make the car unstable on the top end. Personally I have mixed tire types and have not had any issues. Last possibility is dew or pollen on the track.

To answer a question about looking at the other car when bracket racing the answer is yes. I set my mirrors out to see the faster car approaching. I start looking at the other car as soon as possible and look to take the stripe by a foot or less. I almost never run my car flat out the back door.
