So let me ask this... What happens when that day comes and I hit that 9.99 which should be fairly soon. Will they kick me off the track if I don't have that liscense? Is this enforced only if running in NHRA events?
The car was once NHRA certified but expired. What would I have to do to get it recertified?

Is it true that to recert a car you have to have a new cage welded in? What specifically are they looking? Sorry if this was in the link for liscensing.

I'll take 9.99 or faster anyday. If you want to play, you gotta pay.....
Yeah, the good old days of racing with just a helmet. That's why I still have the '01 around. Want to go drive to the track and just play around for a few hours? Yep, it's going on Saturday night......

No, if it's still to spec. and meets the requirements for the times your running all you need to do is get it recertified. You just have to be at the track when they have a NHRA tech inspector there doing inspections. Talk to your track and see when the that will happen next.
Inspector checks welds and metal thickness basic items. Nothing major.

Not to scare him just make him think or research first, I am high compression and can only use 104 octane or higher and its 67.15 for 5 gallons, not a full tank just 5 gallons, thats not alcohol never the less trying to find it. LOL no such thing as stopping at a gas station.
i went into the garage and open one of the VP cans
Took a deep breath
All better now.....
Ahhhh, Aroma Therapy!

Driving a 9 second car is a handfull and takes $$$$. I would advise starting with a slower car and get some experience. Move on to a faster ride in increments. It's night and day going from 11.50 to 9.99. Attached links to schools who provide cars, training, and NHRA license. Frank Hawley and Doug Foley.

4.6 Auto, 3.73 gears, C&L CAI, Diablo 91 octane tune, drag radials, and a saftey loop. What else do I need for a 14 second bracket car?

I used to think 11 seconds was fast. However, the few weeks the GT was down for a little visual maintenance and I took the Shelby to the track. I actually had time to look up and see the times as I went through the traps it was so slow. LOL
Now I completely understand why Richard was joking about my car being a Sunday cruise when he took it down the track (ran a 9.24). When your used to going bottom 7's, 9 is slooooooowwwww!
It's all relative!
