Default Finally got the 98 to the track

Let the boy drive it Friday night. 4.6, auto, flowmaster muflers and 92000 miles. Spun on the line and went 15.43 at 89, 15.35 at 92, 15.39 at 91, 15.41 at 90. He left it in drive and shut off the overdrive. Are these times about right? My first Ford so was not sure what to expect. I do have a set of 26" x 10.5" x 15" MT et street slicks for it if i can find a set of used wheels with enough back spacing. I also have an offroad h-pipe. What kind of gains if any could be expected adding these 2 things. Thanx for any advice JOHN

PS. With slicks and h-pipe only have $1500 into the car includidng purchase price. Trying to keep her cheap.

Those times seem about right to me...

Do you have the 60' on those times?

Those drag radials will be night and day when compared to regular street tires...those tires has enough stickiness to allow for the front wheels to come up on some cars...

Not positive, but I'd say a few tenths will be taken off with those mods.

Good luck to ya.

That sounds about right. I would say it should be at least a high 14 second car with more tire......

The "boy" seems consistent with his times....

which is a good thing.......

but traction seems to be the problem.....

i would invest in tires ,subframe connector, upper & lower control arms and those times will come down

but overall you had a good night.....

Sounds like you just need traction and you will be amazed on the ET`S. Good job on street tires.

The "Sage of the 60' " (Reggie) does not lie!

If you can't get it right in the first 60' it ain't going to get better!

Seat time and mods that Reggie mentioned will help a great deal!
