It's ready to go. We have the MSD box and 2-step installed and re-dynoed it yesterday. The miss is gone, so it should be a clean run. We only got to 597rwhp, but the tune is very safe, and now the convertor is a little pi$$ed off. We might have to take it out to get it tightened up top, but we're going to see how it reacts at the track tonight. I didn't up the boost any, so it's still only at 15.8#. We're confident that this will be the first split-port V6 Mustang in the 9's and our only goal is to beat the fastest V6 Mustang at 9:76.
We should be there by the end of the night, but you know how racing goes......
Good luck man, ill be cheerin ya on! Make sure to take some videos! And be safe, don't come home with anything broken but the record!

Well it didnt go as well as we hoped. First run blew the inlet tube off the intercooler. Second run there was still some missing goin on. Best run of 10.38@137mph. Still some small stuff to work on but we'll get it down into the 9s soon enough.

ONLYYYY????!!!!! Coming from a v6!!!?? HOLLYY#$^$@&#^#&
Thats on a very conservative dyno too. Using a calculator that estimates hp using weight (3185) and trap speed(137) comes out to 639hp. Calculators From RPM Outlet

We are still having a problem with a miss under boost. My first run was at about 75 degrees and it missed all the way down the track, then the intake tube blew off. After we fixed that, it was about 60 degrees out for my final run. It missed maybe 6 times going down the track, so we are figuring we need to tweek the fuel rail pressure a bit. Our tuner said to go up 4# first and see if it gets worse. I'm thinking it need to go down, but he wants to be cautious. Of course he asked me what my wideband said going down the track. Yeah, like I have time to look down by the shifter going 137mph! I think I'm going to mount it up on the rollcage so it will be more visible. My second pass was good, but I really didn't take the rpm's up on the transbrake, I was going more for the miss than the times. One of our buddies lined me up in the staging lanes on my second pass. It was his first time seeing the car at the track, and he's a V8 guy. He was thoroughly impressed. His exact statement was, "Man after the first 100 feet, that SOB was gone."
I have found that setting up this car for the track is very intricate work and takes awhile to dial it in correctly. It's not a "get in and drive type" of scenario. You can use all the dynotuning you want because it is just another tool. But when it gets out on the track with real loads and variables, it is another beast.......
All in all, it was a good night-as drag racing always is......
Getting into the 9's ain't easy and I don't care who you are. You're gonna get it there just takes a little time!
The miss under load. Could you be suffering spark blow out? What are you gapping the plugs to?

well we arent really thinking spark blow out at this point. We've got the msd dis4+ box hooked up and it runs great on the dyno. So the spark is there. Its just under the load at the track is where the miss comes in.
He gaps the plugs at .035.
Who knows but we'll find it

.035 seems a little much. I'm no V6 expert by any stretch of the imagiation. I know I run quite a bit more boost and such but mine are gapped .025 or .022 (Tight).
When I got spark blow out it never showed up on the dyno.

I agree Eric, but we have gapped them anywhere from .025 up. It doesn't change, so we have to assume that the gap is fine at this point. We are going to drop it to .032 and see where it takes us. It's gotta be fuel pressure, but we won't know until Saturday night......

lots of luck to you. you should call your car the V600

Well if it's breaking up like that it's got to be Fuel or fire so your on the right track.
What are you running for a fuel system? What type of fuel you running? You aren't running Q16 are you?
What do the plugs look like after a pass?
Any chance you got a bad box? It's happened a lot with the Big Stuff computers lately. Had two in a row that was bad.
Sorry I got all kinds of questions today!!
