Default Going to track for the first time..help?
I'm looking at going to the track next week and racing a friend's 92GT. First off, I have 3.27 gears, a cai, magnaflow race mufflers, and a short throw shifter. His car is completely stock with the exception of a k&n filter.
I was wondering if i could get some tips for the race, as i've never raced before. I was thinking that I should remove the spare tire, keep the tank at 1/8 full, and use 93 octane gas. Other than that, what do you guys suggest? Any launch or shifting techniques?

practice practice practice.
1st and 2nd is most critical. find the best shift point where you keep it in the power band but not to far where it falls on its face when u shift. Keep and eye on the tach but listen to you motor. She will tell you the story. Keep you eyes at the end of the track. Looking at your buddy power shifting won't help. Eyes on the goal. Then you can tape your slip on your buddies window later. GL

actualy keep the weight since you want the most grip to the rear wheels
