Thumbs up Found My Wheelhopping Prob

Well I had a general clue of what was wrong but it wasn't till I actually took the uppers off and found how these guys looked. I meant to take a pic of the other sides and the upper control arm bushings but I was in a bit of a rush since I was using my boss' lift at his shop, but to be honest everything was beat down real bad. We replaced the the bushings, which weren't hard at all. We just used the BFH initially and than used the BFH with a chisel and they were out in no time. We slipped in the new bushings greased up with a large socket and the BFH and threw on the new double adjustable control arms(adjusted to stock lenghth). All I can say is WOW very happy with the difference. When you would shake my car sideways you would here a loud clanking noise or when I drove back than went forward another clank. Additonally I couldn't do a burnout because it would hop so bad that I couldn't hold it without the car shaking violently. Now, no such thing. I'm VERY excited to head back to the track next friday and see what she can do .

Yup, it was like that on both ends along with the bushings on the upper control arms. I should've done this much sooner because the rear of the car feels MUCH tighter. Before it kind of felt floaty, now it's great.

How long did the upper control arm installation take and what type did you get? I think those are one of my next two mods, did they seem to help the car hook up better?

Can you tell me in a little more detail how you got those out? Mine look the same way, have the same problems. I have already purchased the bushings. Just didn't have a clue on how to get them out without a tool. Thanks.

All in all it took about an hour with a lift. I'm not sure the brand as they were givin to me by one of my boys, but they're double adjustable with spherical ends. I haven't ran at the track but before I couldn't even do a burnout because of the wheelhop. The rear end is much more stiffer though so I'm hoping for some better times this friday

We used a very big hammer to knock them out initially. Than once it's through the hole we knock it out the rest of the way with a chisel. To put them back in we used a very large socket and a hammer. I've heard of people having to burn them out but that wasn't my case thank goodness.

They sometimes can be a PITA to replace. Just a good old BMF usually does it.

Glad you found your problem......
