Default What Helmet is best?

I by no means, have a fast car and the local track doesn't require me to have a helmet...yet. Anyway, I want to know what brand helmets you all wear and like. I would like to buy one shortly to be on the safe side! It doesn't seem like there are any places locally that sell them, so if I can't try them on, I figure I would ask for your opinions. i know what size I would need, 7 1/2 Large, yeah, I have a big head.
My first drag race will be tomorrow, helmet-less, but would like to purchase one for future races.

I use a Simpson Bandit Series Helmet

NHRA Rule

A helmet is required for the driver of any car or truck running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and for the rider of any motorcycle. Most drivers can use a helmet meeting SNELL K98, M2000, SA2000, M2005, or SA2005 specifications. Professional category and some alcohol burning vehicles require an SA rated helmet. It is important to note that the helmet rating must be designated on a tag INSIDE the helmet, or sewn to one of the helmet straps. The designation stenciled on the exterior of the helmet is insufficient for NHRA technical inspection. Also, some tracks require a helmet on ALL drivers, so check in advance.

Let's hope I don't run faster than 13.99 tomorrow night, although I wish I could.
Oh, Dang! I just looked those Simpson helmets up on Summitracing.com. They sure don't come cheap.
Anybody use G-Force with any luck?

When considering the price of a helmet the question you must ask yourself.....

What is my head & brain worth.......

Something to think about 'eh.....

Definitely true. I wouldn't think that other brands compromise safety though, as long as they meet the specs. If they did, then yeah, I'd get the most expensive helmet out there. Nevertheless, I want a helmet that's comfortable and doesn't feel like wearing a rock on my head.

I use a Bell helmet, and it's lightweight. The only thing is I MUST be clean shaven to wear it due to the padding... take it off when I haven't shaven and it's YOWW...
