Default going for the 9.90's today!!

All right club members, this is the day of the show down between me and a 454 Chevelle. We are at the track getting ready. I'm hoping that in the process of wipping my bud that I get my personal best in the 9.90's. I will up date as we go.

first pass, I was not happy at all! My plugs decided to foul and stalled at the light! I got it back started and we were off:

me: Him:
rt .027 .202
60' 1.498 1.554
330 4.271 4.455
1/8 6.594 6.968
1/4 10.32 10.955
mph 131.25 123.89

Of course my always problem of getting a good burn out! I getting ready to put different plugs in.

My bud; Owe.... I got tire shake and I was hittin the rev. limiter @ 8000rpm

we got some more rounds and well see what's happening

the mph says 10.10....

target 60' of 1.39 and you will have your 9.90

No, using foot brake. I don't know why my 60' went up like that. It is kind of hot today, could that be a factor? my best 60' has been a 1.39 no more than a 1.42 usually.

Well..... On the second I ran a 10.24 @ 131 mph to his 11.60 @ 116 mph. He got pissed and put the car on the trailer after that. He wanted to put the 9000 rpm chip in but we all talked him out of it. We did not want to see him blow it. My final run was:

rt .096
60' 1.427
1/8 6.523 @ 105 mph
1/4 10.270 @ 130.52

Today was the first time running 112 octane fuel and the heat was up. I had the most problems ever with the dang thing today.

I was changing jets and everything. Looks like I need to decide if I'm gonna run that octane all the time or go back to 93 with 104 boost. It was tuned for that and I'm thinking that the higher octane of course is better but changes the tune completely!

I did not get my 9.90's but there is always next time!

10.20's on a hot probably greasier track, I'd say you did well either way. 9.90's next time

whats your 1/8 mile mph . 6.39 6,40 1/8 mile time at 108 110mph for a 9.98 run at around 134mph mit need more gear 410 what is your rpm at the traps

The best run that day was:

rt. .161
60' @ 1.416
1/8 6.503
MPH 105.16
1/4 10.241
MPH 131.06

I have been speculating that there is something up with my converter. As far as gear I could benifit from a 3.73 or 3.55 to get more speed out of it. I will have the torque to spin them hard still.

Going through the traps I'm at 6700 rpm which I should not be.
I know it is there because I had a 6700 chip an just started hitting limiter. I changed to a 7 and when I notice it was right around 6700. I was told that I should be about 6100

Right not Uncle Sam tells me to just deal w/ what I have and get better tuning and out of all this get more seat time and learn more.
