Thanks, now I will have to do some reserch on finding a good tuning shop around me. I know my engine builder has one but it is for motor only. I don't want to pull just for that.
See now I have another question?? Which is better dyno motor only or dyno with motor in the car?
motor only will tell you what its at the fly wheel
in car at the rear wheels.
i think motor only they hook more stuff up though i dunno.
either way a good dyno tuner will get you going

X-C April 2010,Heads, Cam,Internals April 2011, or blown engine, witch ever comes first.
The transformation has begun!
An "event" can occur ANY time an engine is cranked. In my experience, the rare destruction occurs on dynos when the owner is either REALLY pushing the envelope (and a good dyno tech will WARN them) - when a new mod is not installed properly - or an engine build had some bad workmanship inside the motor.
Needless to say, when the normal safeguards are modified or removed (rev limits, speed limits, extreme spark advance, extremely lean fuel/air mixtures, etc), which is a common demand from owners, the risks properly lie with THEM, not the technician (who however SHOULD warn them of the dangers).
Any GOOD tech has the ability to maximize the car on the dyno, but he cannot be expected to compensate for any of the hundreds of different lethal defects which might be lurking.
I have seen intakes explode when tuning for nitrous, for instance - almost always because the owner took short-cuts with equipment or was too ignorant to answer the tech's questions properly.
Good tuners are well-known to the local Mustang Clubs - I would suggest consulting the regional clut listings at www.mustang.org (Mustang Club of America) to see if there is a club near you (there are dozens of them all over the country).

First off find a shop, with a chassis dyno. Then ask around, do your research before choosing a shop. You'll know right off if the shop, is reputable just by asking around and listening to the feedback. I don't know about you, but when I build an engine I use one Machine Shop, and one Chassis Dyno and that's Dez Racing. But I've been doing this, for over forty years and over time you learn. And when I use a chassis dyno, I rent it by the hour when I know he's not backed up. Reason being, I do my own tuning, Mike. SCT Tuner.

thanks for the tip. I'll check them out as well.

I'm with Reggie. The Chassis dyno is the way to go. You need to know how the motor operates with your fuel system and your exhaust. Once the A/F is correct and the car is operating properly the only true indicator of what it will do is 1/4 mile.
Remember we don't race dyno's!
The power a car makes is only a small part of the equation. Suspension, weight, trans, clutch or TC, rear end, etc. Everything adds in to that equation that equals the cars capability.
