Default anybody switched from m/t to hoosiers?

i am going to a taller slick and found a deal too good to pass up. i have been running a 28x10.5x15 et drag m/t and now i am going to a 29x10.5x15 hoosier slick. i was just wondering if anyone else has run both and if the tire pressures are similar.

Why go to a taller tire? Is the car mini tubbed or will a 29" tall tire fit?

But I run hoosier Quick Time Pros and they are great for me! Even ran a 28" Hoosier slick and worked great! I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Getting a 29" tire under a fox is going to take some modification of a bunch of things......

i have a big hammer and a bunch of cut off wheels. i am going to a taller tire for more traction. i am about to put a lot more motor in it. the guy who is going to set up the suspension is a true ten five racer and i am going to set the car up basically like his fox. if they can run low 8s i should have no problem running low 10s with that set up

A taller tire doesn't give you more traction? a wider one does. A taller tire compensates for having a steep rear gear. Or am i thinking wrong? And Im pretty positive you can a low 10 with a 28x10.5 M/T or Hoosier slick without a problem

you 100% on point with your response.....

i personally run low 10's on a 26x10.5

But that is nothing take look at the insanity of the 10.5 outlaw cars.......

absolutely you can run 9s and tens on a shorter tire.i was told with a taller tire i would have more bite, and i am taking his word on it. if you have a taller tire you have more ground contact from front to rear.

It cant be that much of a difference. But just remember, the taller the tire, the more gear you are taking out of the rear.

Going to a taller tire is usually just to compensate for having a little too much gear in the car, but yeah, it can help you hook off the line a bit if you don't want to change gears or are just fine tuning your mph.
