Default Last night was a total learning process

I feel like a total Rookie. I went out last night and my first run was the only run , I could hook up. I was playing with the suspension to see if I could improve it. Well it did not happen every launch I blew my tires off. I was so frustrated, I felt like just giving it up.
We had over 200 street rat Rods there last night. I am sure that did not help. I do not get that rat rod thing at all. Maybe they can not afford paint, not sure.
I do not know about giving up just yet. I am going back tonight to redeem myself. I am going to try less air in the tires, since I was running 18 psi. I will try 16 psi. Then I think I got my suspension dialed back in were it was doing well. The big word is think. I hate that word.I want to know damit.. Sorry I just realized I am ranting here. I`ll be back with some good news. I am going out to look for those darn directions on my suspension. Then I will know for sure what the heck I am doing.

welcome our world......

The thing is your car has improved so much.....

Now it has become very sensative to minor adjustments

Trust me what you experienced last night is 100% normal.....

Between what you know & Eric's coaching you will be fine....

Don't forget you have been fighting the heat & track conditions....

Also i'm with you on the "rat rod" thing....

I would never on purpose build a "POS"........

But it is a true testament of shadetree building

i have considered on more than one occasion to build a car out of the junkyard like i did when i was young....

Yes for all the smart @$$es

Yes we had cars back in the dark ages.....

Its just not my thing......

That's ok, it was a great learning experience. You do great! I would love to get to play at a track someday.
This will make a great what to do and not do thread later on

I went out again last night, and it was just not my night. I thought I had the suspension figured out. Yea right, not even close. Still blowing the tires off. I had to go to the extreme on it to figure what will work, and what won`t. All that I am at liberty to say is, when it comes to instructions. Forget about it!!
The instructions must go down as the worst instructions on earth for any car parts. It is a shame I had to go through 2 bottles to figure it out. Man blowing your tires off is like being a premature ejaculator. The plus is it was a challenge, and to finally figure it out is the shine.

Nice Reggie ....... you are nuts.

Thanks I needed a laugh, last night was the worst night at the track ever. My nemisis , with his Camaro beat me; and my best PB. I am not happy about that, more than anything. I know if I had my car hooking up, I would of got him. The thing was there was a No Bull heads up race, and like a big dummy I entered it. I hate these time races, what was I thinking. I entered the 13.00 class, and I broke out against a turbo car. This is what took me off of my game plan.

Hey we all have those kind of nights!

Heck, I ended up making a pass during the Clash Of The Titans with the plug missing from the differential (Yeah, I was THAT GUY). I also went on to win the 9.50 index that night. I almost said "forget about it" after the diff situation. Glad I didn't!

You'll get yours! Don't worry! It's like I told you in my PM, now it's going to get harder and harder to make up time with out a major mod. However, that's what seperates those that go out and make a few passes twice a year at a track and "Racers".

Nothing wrong with either group so don't read anything into that guys.

Do you have a line lock ? If you're spinning then heating them up a bit more might help. I've let my friend borrow my MT's and he seems to spin without a line lock with less HP. Just a thought.

I don't fit into either group. My only mods are oil changes and replacement of rear tires. I really cut back this year and only have about 200 passes this season.

I figured it out, I had some fluid spillage not much but enough to mess me up. I have some tranny fluid leakage, from a converter seal. This was not enough to hurt anyone else just my own times. Thank god, I would hate to jeopardise anyone else because of my car. This is another reason,I put the car up on jackstands after each trip to the track. I may get the PI multi disk Torque converter, and B&M trans cooler. I can not allow this loud mouth at the track to beat me ever again. I may have to get drastic on my car. I am working so hard right now to make this happen. It will soon, all come together.
