Default Just got back from the track !! first time ever!!!

Okay here are the runs...in each case i was in the right lane....

Run 1

Rsx Type S 66 mustang
15.289 @92.485 15.784 @ 88.461
My first run ever and i peeled all the way to the 1st time box and my shift light failed to work so i didnt no when to shift

Run 2

93 stang 5.0 66 stang
14.900 @ 94.330 15.443 @ 88.907

Run 3

Integra 96' 66 stang
16.468 @ 81.912 15.425 @ 89.100

Run 4

01 Super charged gt vert 66 stang
13.620 @ 104.297 16.077@85.993

I had my electrical issue pop up and instead of running to 4,5 rpm my car would only run up to 4,.... it was dying bad..its because i burned out and it caused the issue to start before the run instead of the run like it usually does

For all this i must say my car did well... it took every car off the line ..even the 01 stang... guess i have the torque.... however my carb needs to be tunned because its running off right now ..and i need to tighten my clutch.... I think what would help me most is new tires....right now i have worn P215/60R14's ... i dont know much about tires but i want some street legal slicks so i can take it to the track without a trailer.... i'll buy some 8'10 inch racing rims for it too...so who can recommend what type / size tire and lightweight racing rim...? I heard that drag tires were rated in months not miles which sucks because i wont run it every week... So who can help me out here? Here are the mods to my car if you can suggest anything else it would be appreciated

66 stang 289
mild cam
30k mile on rebuild
edlebrock 650cfm 4 barrel carb vaccum secondary
edlebrock perfromer rpm intake
4 speed top loader tranny
9' rear end with 3.55's pozi
Msd ignition coil
point ignition converted to electric
all new suspension
disc brakes up front
canton racing oil pan
windage tray
old 3 row radiator

Sounds like you had some fun!

I have a set of Weld's 15X8 with Mickey Thompson E/T drags on them 26x10.5. I could ether drive to the track and change them there or, and this is what I do, I get the car ready at home and trailer.

We just bought a pair of E/T Street for my son's Mustang 26X11.5. We will be mounting them on some Weld's too. These you could drive to the track on. We used Weld wheels because they are light and inexpensive.

I have a buddy with a really old (yrs) set of E/T Drag's. He ran them not too long ago with no problems. Even ran an 11sec run. I believe he used some kind of dressing on them, not the kind you find at the local auto parts

That supercharged GT should have run MUCH faster than that. You need some heads, my friend! You would be raping the cometition with a good set of heads and a more extreme cam.
