Wife's gone for the weekend...Plan 3 days of Racing.
Wife went away for the weekend. I'm going to run amuck. I haven't been racing for a month now and this will be my last time out for the '09 season.
Friday night Island Dragway NJ F-body vs Mustang event
Saturday Raceway Park NJ Ford Day double enter (Mustang Class and $$$ Class).
Sunday Maple Grove PA Summit Brackets double enter (Street and Pro).
3 days of racing in 5 classes.
Wife will be back Sunday afternoon with my truck, trailer, and dogs.

I can't go to the track without my wife, she's all the pit crew I've got!
One night one of the racers was loaning me a tool and he said "I'll have one of my guys bring it up". I replied "Nah, I'll have one of my crew come get it", then turned and said "Sue you're up". We still laugh about that one.
But the truth is, as she's learning more about it she is becoming quite useful at the track.
But any way you slice it, racing for three straight days......
It doesn't get much better than that. Have fun and what the hell, maybe kick a little butt along the way too. Just to ice the cake.

We're not the fastest car at the track but we might be having the most fun.
If you're not having fun, then you're taking this stuff too seriously!
It must be nice! Let us know how ya do and how much $ you win! Good luck! Be safe!
The look of the promotors face when 2 stangs are in the in final of the F-body vs Mustang race durning the F-body weekend. Priceless. I got the win, cool trophy with flames on a firebird-chevy logo and a $100 gift certificate. Got that and 10 passes on the car. 2 time shots on a pro .500 tree, 3 sportsman tree timeshots, then 5 elimanition rounds. Not bad for a $25 entry fee. Not a bad start for my 3 race day weekend.

Report #2. Hero to a-hole in less that 24 hours. Gota love bracket racing. Drove 2 hours to Ford day at Englishtown. Very light turnout. I double entered in the Mustang and dollar bracket. About 20 cars in the mustang and 18 for the money race. 1/2 the field were clueless the other 1/2 were seasoned racers. Apparently Div 1 had off this weekend and all the Jersey boys came home for the Ford day. Good side is that gates opened at noon, timeshots started at 1 and eliminaltion just before 3. With the light turnout the track decided to let everyone run as much as you wanted before eliminations. I got 6 timeshots. Good the bad and ugly. Started out with a decient light then went red and then redder. WTF. Relaxed and just hit my spot ok for time shots 4, 5 and 6. First round in mustang class I went against someone new. I was .018 on the tree and coasted to an easy win. Went to the money class. yikes div 1 numbers on a 10.0 dial. Ok went to my A game.. Put the car on kill either ,00x or red. Well I was .003 backed in on the top end and got a really nice win. Hold that because it was all down hill from there. With only 10 cars left round 2 was on a ladder. A black supercharged 197 mustang. Another hitter. I decided to cut a conservitave light. I was .022 on the tree and thought I had him by a ton on the top end. I watched the stripe and tapped the breaks just before the finish line, scrubbing .02 in et. Aughahgh I wasn't watching my opponent. I gave the stripe to him mov by .02x. He was .006 and almost 3 over. Per my math if I stayed in it I would of squeeked by with a mov of .00x. Over to the money round. Now with a .003 RT from round one, I should have a bye run. Right. Wrong.... 8 cars left. No by runs. On the ladder with a full size LTD running 16's. Ugh I hate chasing. Ok here we go. Trying to clear my mind of the last round give away and now a 16 second opponent. Were ready to go into the water box and they hold us up for a smoking car. I turned my car off. 2 minutes later we go. Into the water box. Get the thumbs up I hit the gas. Tires make a 1/2 turn and stop ??????? forgot to turn of the traction control. dua. Turn it off and did a burnout but not quite like normal. Head games. Gee the brunout felt different, is it ok, yea i think so are u sure.... uahhahah. Ok I stop in
front of the prestage beam and wait for my dialin to come up. Other car doesn't care and goes to fully staged. No dial in on board but starter comes over and "helps" me stage by waving me in. My dial finally comes on and i stage. Prestage and stop, bump, bump, bump ok staged. Move my hand and thumb to the shifter oh noooooooo I forgot to put the car in second. Side note: I launch in second because I have my car dialed into the tree that way. Too late to look down and shift into 2. 1st gear launch will make me very very red. I just guessed on the tree. BAD GUESS.... -010. I just got out of it when I saw my red. 2 hours drive home. Relaxing and having a few beers. Tomorrow is another race day. Write today off as a lack of seat time. Still a nice day to race and got to make 10 runs. Would of been nice to get a few more elimination rounds.

Switching over to an '87 COUPE, Carb'd 331, 100-150 shot of giggle gas, TKO 600
And on the 3rd race day it rained. Time to review my timeslips. Overall it was really great to get back to the track. Would of been nice to race all 3 days but I did get 2 great days of racing. 11 time shots, 7 round wins and 2 round losses. I may shed a few tears today as I take off the drag radials and put on the street tires. Next race date may not be till the last week of next Feburary.
