I'd love to report another win last night. However, I got struck with the itchy finger syndrome and red lite in the semi's. I ended up giving a pass to a 6.5 sec car. Didn't follow my own rules and tried to cut a light when I didn't need to. Should have gave him the move and ran him down. I had him covered. Then again he is a good friend, it was a midnight madness race (it was early morning and everything was blurry, I forgot my glasses). However, I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses he won, and I'm glad to lose to a fine racer.
On a good note, I did get to settle a little "grudge" with a certain Eddlebrock sponsored car. A little back story here. About a month and a half ago the driver of said car came up to me and told me "with the lights you cut I could beat you". Well that got under my skin a little bit.
Well guess who decides to run Strictly Street last night. You guessed it...that same car and driver. And guess who he got first round...you guessed it, me! He looked at the ladder and just started cussing, "I got you first round"! I looked him dead in the eyes and with a straight face told him "well with the lights I cut you can beat me, isn't that right"? I turned and walked away and said "we're about to find out aren't we"!
We prepped the car and Gary (my crew chief) asked me if we were gonna go easy 'we got him covered". I told him nope, set that sucker for kill, I'm gonna make a statement here.
Well I'll let the video and the time slip talk for me, pretty much show what I did.
After the race was over the other driver pulled next to my car and told me 'good race". I just looked at him and said "guess I didn't need to cut a light".. His response "never thought you had to". Well we ended up shaking hands later and it's all good now.
but I proved my point...now If I'll only listen to my own advice next race! LOL

I'm right there with you Bkid. I know they say "It ain't bragging if you can back it up" but I prefer to let my car do the talking. I ain't gonna rub it in anybodies face, just not that way. However, he was asking for it.

I broke my record last night...twice. With a 5.98 on a .005 light (hey that's a decent light) and then backing it up with a 5.93 in the 1st elimination.
The humidity and heat were unbelievable last night. It really hurt the track. i think if the track would have come around I could have gone 5.8*.
Well....leaves a little something for the next race. i like racking the points up for setting the record each outing.
