Question might run the strip this weekend, 1st time. Tips? Any predictions on my run?

Hey so I'm trying to run this weekend at the drags. What are pointers/tips that I should know, anything and everything would be great!

What do you think I'll run? I'm thinking low-mid 14s cause its a first ever run. After a few, I think mid-high 13s.

Here is my mod list, runnin on street tires, to my knowledge, its complete right here:

-Plugs gaped at 0.050in
-9mm Ford Racing Wires

-JBA 1 1/2 Shorty headers
-2.5 in Mac o/r H pipe
2.5 in Flowmaster American Thunder system

-Motorsports Cam (B303 or E303)
-BBK CAI
-Edelbrock RPM intakes
-1 inch intake spacer
-AFR 165 Heads
-Motorsports 1.6 Roller Rockers
-Hardened pushrods
-FRPP Hydraulic lifters
-FRPP Timing Chain
-70mm Power Throttle body
-2 inch 70mm EGR spacer
-76mm C&L MAF
-30# injectors
-Adjustable FPR running at 42-44psi WOT
-255 lph Walbro Fuel pump

-Spec Stage 1 clutch
-UPR Adjustable Clutch cable/firewall Quadrant

-Drive shaft loop
-3.73s

-lowered 2 inches

its def cable of low 12s with enough practice...

but not with those tires...

you should be able to get in a 13sec run before the days over

good luck!

dont forget to have fun

too many variables to be sure...but 13.00 is very possible...

helmets are required at tracks...

for the launch,

you cant really play with tire pressures too much with street tires...but you can try dropping the rears a lil, and i mean a just a lil.... you can put the front tires up to 40psi..

for what rpms you launch at... will really just come down to trail and error, and how well you can get those tires to hook.

i wouldnt do a burn out, bc there just street tires, but if you have to make it very short.

k I'll keep the short burnout in mind. I'm thinking about 3000rmp-3500rmp launch, I've practiced that a few times, right now I'm at 36psi in my tires, so you think 38 rear 40 front?

38psi in the rears might be a lil high.

if you have a chance try dropping them to even the 28-30psi range and test that out on the street.

3000-3500rpm is a good place to launch to start testing at..

there will be wheel spin, but as long as its not excessive you should be good, after you launch from then try launching a lil higher and compare results..

but dont be to hard the the drivetrain, its strong, but between the stock axles and stock transmission ...something can break if you dont treat it nice

this is with a passenger and a lot of excess weight in the back(i.e 2 ten inch subs with boxes, huge amp, tire and jack, random excess weight) Its not a launch but flooring it from 1st at like 3500rmp. I don't know if this gives any better idea on what I'll run

NO E-BRAKE AT THE LINE! the car wont roll! I had my best luck on street tires without dropping pressures. Small burnouts, just enough to get the rocks/debris off the tires. when the stage light came on, i held rpms at 2500 rpm and quickly let the clutch out. just enough not to ride it too much and not too fast as if you dump the clutch. trial and error will help with your launch. And launch in 1st gear.

Now I don't have a helmet, I called and if I run under 13.99 then I'm out if I don't have a helmet. It needs to be a Snell approved 2000 or newer and I don't feel like spending $150.00 on one right now. I'll take it easy for a few runs and then push and see what I can do, personally, if I get in the 13s for my first time, I think thats pretty good.

Its $25.00 for the night, is that a good price or is it pretty standard?

Thats about right for T/T and you can probly buy a used helmet on craigslist or ebay for relatively cheap. i dont suggest you not use a helmet. No need to get a bad rep. at the track your first time. just my opinion

I called mine and they don't have a rental so thats kinda a bummer for me. Well I looked on craigslist for the helmet and couldn't find one thats 2000 or higher rating.

Do you think I should go anyway since it a first time and wont be pushing super hard the first run or two, and if I do get faster than 13.99 then I'll just be done for the evening. You think that'll be fine?
