me and my friends went down to the drag strip outside of el paso tx this weekend. i just wanted to overview some highlights. there was two nice looking mustangs there. one was an 04 mach 1 with 4.56 gears, exhaust, intake and slicks. the other was an 03 s/c cobra on slicks. to my surprise, neither one was as fast i expected them to be. the mach's best run was 13.6. the cobra only ran a 13.9???? wtf i thought is was gonna be faster. my first run at the track was awful with horrible reaction and missing second gear. it was a pathetic 17.1. i was running against a 5.0 f body that ran a respectable 13.2. my next few runs were better but not as fast as i would have liked them to be. i ran a 98 gt and won with a 16.35. next i ran a hundai tiburon and won with the same time of 16.35. next i ran my friends 240 sx. he smoked me and he ran a 14.5 while i was at 16.38. i guess im pretty slow but at least im consistant i suppose. the fastest car that night was a subaru wrx sti running 12.89. if you have made it this far i would like to thank you for reading and would appreciate any advice for next time.

What type of tires are you running. You may be able to pick up a second or so with soft rubber.
michelin pilot sports. 30,000 mile tires

dude ep's tracks are so whack, one thing i dont miss.also i think ther times are off.idk if they got it fixed.we'll hit the track up when i go down
that sounds good! but yeah the times ran there are always alot slower than other places. plus the staging areas arnt level so you roll backwards in the left lane and forward in the right lane. another thing that sucks about it is that the deceleration area after the finish line is really short before you run out of track. my friend told me that they arent able to run anything faster than 9 second cars simply because they cant shut them down in time. but i suppose its better than no track

Sounds like you had some respectable runs, and maybe a bit of fun. You could come up here to Albuquerque and run some 18 or 19`s which would make you feel great running down there.

I can't wait to run my 94 Mustang! What do you guys think is a reasonable time?
5.0, 5spd, stage 1 clutch, Paxton adjustable fuel presure regulator set at 45 lbs?, Ford racing roller rocker arms 1.6, E303 Cam, Exploer upper and lower intake manifold, BBK power plus 70MM throttle body, stock exhaust with cat deletes and flowmaster 40 series.
What time would be respectable with these upgrades^ ?
Sounds like that track in El Paso is pretty screwed up But at least you have a place where you can race legally. The rolling forward or backward at the line has to be very frustrating... what no money to level the starting line especially if it has been this way for years.
