I have seen guys running 2 spare tires up front on the S197`s. The spare tires on the S197`S are not doughnut spare tires . I believe they are good to 120mph.

I sure those are not a performance tire i'd advise against doing that...
I doubt seriously they are rated for 120
Just not worth the risk.....

A few months back, I saw some old import running on 4 emergency spares. So I am wondering if the salvage yard was having a blow out sale on them. Old but never used. Would that even be safe?

I just checked the tire and it said not to exceed speeds of
50 MPH . I guesss when I drove home on the spare tire at 120 that was exceeding the limitations. Yea I do not see this as a really safe thing unless you put a higher speed tire on that wheel.

Ok a bit more info , I called some junk yards and found that they made these wheels in Aluminum and steel. Personally I would want steel. The steel wheels are not reall heavy either. Some high speed tires would do the trick. The thing is they may not look so hot. But this is like worring about how your shorts look when going into the cage to fight. This is about speed is it not?

I was sorta kidding - but I don't really think there'd be much risk at the drag strip - they wouldn't be any hotter by the end of a 1/4 mile run at 120 than if you drove for an hour at 50, and you're not turning (at least I hope not).
Don't take that as an endorsement - just thinking out loud.....
I decided to wait, and find some nice used Bogarts or even just get me a new set later down the road. I could of had a great set of Greg Welds for only 800.00 front and backs and they were new. I will just wait on the next great deal.
