Default i have tire question

hey guys i jst bought new tires cuz the old ones were wasted already n i though i would be getting better time cuz the old ones burned out alot but since i got the new ones my time got worst like by like 1/2 a secound would that be cuz i got 215 45 17 intead of the 245 45 17......

Technically speaking, you changed your final drive ratio, but it should have been changed in a "better way" for quickness because you went with a 1" shorter overall tire.... You sure your problem isn't traction related?
You can use this calculator to see for yourself at: Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing
Any time you change the width (215mm vs. 245mm), you also need to change the sidewall height (the "45" in 245/45/17 means that the sidewall is 45% of the width) to compensate for that change, or the total outside diameter changes.
In your case (I am kind of surprised someone even mounted tires that skinny & that short compared to what you pulled in with), if you chose the 215mm width, you should have then went with 50 series to bring the total outside diameter back to normal.

prabably cuz it burns out alot when i step on it n since i got dose tires i got a little slower wat would u recomend for better traction would lowering it do the trick?
