Default Drag race fuel consumption?

I just thought about this.... My car really knows how to drink!

I have an 8 gallon fuel cell. I go 4 times down the track (1/4 mi)

That means I'm getting close to 1 mile per 8 gallons!! After the 4 runs, I'm down into the slosh foam and wouldn't chance an additional run.

That's crazy! I thought v6's were suppose to be more fuel efficient!

If you think about it you're going more than 1 mile in 4 runs. Even if you tow the car back to the pits you still drive the length of the shut down area before you hit the return road and most likely you drive over to the staging lanes. So you probably get 3 or 4 miles to 8 gallons. Feel better now? Hope you don't need that expensive race gas!

I fill my 10 gallon cell before I go to the track then reset the trip meter so I know exactly what mileage I get. Between warming the car up and driving back to the pits plus driving over to the lanes I usually put about 12-15 miles on when I run three time trials and (hopefully) 3 or 4 rounds. I usually get around 4 mpg. Of course I'm not running a BB!

Yea, your right when you start adding those factors in, including using for the burnouts. Yes my wife was reading this with me and also mentioned that that's some expensive @$$ gas too! $6.99 a gallon!

They are until you put 83# injectors to keep up with the volume of air moved by the turbo......
