Has anyone ever heard of and alternator being mounted off the center section of a 9" rear end and being spun off the yoke?
I saw in a magazine today a Bonniville salt flat car with one. It was kind of cool. Apparently it is not something new as I tried to find a photo to paste on here, I found an old thread from 2006 with them talking about it.
I know that they did not want any drag on the motor, but I would have never thought about doing something like that. Then on the bottom of this car was all sheet metal for no air pockets, including over the rear end itself.
