Default Going to Track Tomorrow. Need Advice.

Hey guys. Whats up. Im going to the track tomarrow and i need some advice. I Always have trouble launhcing the car. I tried a 3grand launch and a 2grand launch and spun the tires rite off the line :/ I set the PSI at 20lbs too on a Mickey thompson ET Street.

Should i be launching at a higher RPM. I was told with my cam i should try launching around 4-5Grand... Seems pretty high to mr though :/'

I jsut need to work on my 60ft time alot. Last time i went to the track i ran a 13.2 at a speed of 109.5 with a 60ft of 2.0 I wanna get that 60ft down to a 1.6-1.8

It's been far too long since I checked the pressure in a drag slick, but if I remember right I went as low as 4.5 lbs. in 14-32 W's in my car that weighed about 2400 lbs. I ran about 7 lbs. in 10.5-28 tires in my 69 Cobra Jet at about 3400 lbs total weight.

What does the tire maker recommend? Are you doing a good burnout? I did mine in the waterbox with the trans in 3rd gear to avoid over-revving. Just keep an eye on the tach, come out of the water and do one dry hop, then stage. The higher rpm you leave at, the harder you shock the tires into the track if your car is set up right.

if you read m/t's website, they recommend between 12-16psi for the ET Street RADIALS for any size under 275 wide

i have 235/60's..i run them at 12 psi cuz thats where they stick.

That's not exactly what I found there for radials. Do they have conflicting guidance posted elsewhere on the site?

Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels

I am launching at 4K+. It dead hooks sometimes, but the tires have to be hot at 17 PSI. I am dropping pressure next time out if my suspension mods don't solve it. I only have 300WHP and 3.73s.

Suspension upgrades in progress.

they muist have changed it..i know for a fact it said 12-16psi for sizes 275 and smaller..i had the same converstaion with another guy about this

ET STREET RADIAL
On the racetrack DO NOT use starting pressures below 11 psi.
Recommend pressures for:

P295 and larger sizes:
12-16 psi
P275 and smaller sizes:
14-18 psi

just got back form the rack. I got one good run in. a 12.5 at 110.5MPH 60ft was a 1.7. That was with the MT ET Streets at 12PSI and i still spun off the line.

So i got the MPH down so im p[retty sure once i put my skiinys on the front and my steeda raditor support which drops 26.5lbs ill be a low 12.

Im going back on Nov.21 and 22nd for importVSdomestic. Ill let you guys know how i do with the skinnys on and radiator support on too.

When i purchase my Radiator Support ill purchase a line-lock as well.
