a bunch of guys from the local forum Pennmustangs.com were heading to Maple Grove for the last t&t day of they year Saturday,so i figured what the hell,i'll take the vert for one last beat down before i put the body out to pasture this winter
a little elevation change goes a long way,and i made 3 of my best passes ever in what was to be my cars final runs down the strip(under my ownership anyway)
not that my 60's are amazing by any means..think thats cuz the car is so heavy
1st pass- 12.738 @105.74 with a 1.771 60ft
2nd pass-12.712 @ 105.93 with a 1.752 60 ft
3rd pass -12.814 @ 104.31 with a 1.724 60ft
i dont know what happened on the 3rd run..best 60ft,yet .1 and 2 mph slower???
the clutch felt a little funky on the ride home..wasnt slipping or anything,just not quite right..i have plans of replacing it anyway during the swap..im surprised it lasted this long..its a stock replacement clutch thats been in the car for over 7 years,and has probably somewhere around 150 or more passes on it!!
how much does the test and tune cost? i'm not far from maple grove and i've really wanted to test out my car at the track and give it a tune, but it's stock with only flows on it... what do you think?
it was $25..i made 3 passes..that was the last day for this year,track is closed for the winter after todays races..
usually at my home track,Numidia,a t&t costs $35,but you can make as many passes as you want..the last time i was at Numidia for a t&t,i made 17 passes..yesterday was aggravating,just too many cars there...
what do you mean "give it a tune"?

no test and tune means you take your car down the track and test it..then you can go back to the pits,try a different suspension setting,or fuel rpessure,for example..then go back and test it again..which was impossible to accomplish at maple grove yesterday..it was so long between runs that you wouldnt even know if what you "tuned " in the pits made a difference anyway

Possibility of a mid track head wind? It's not unusual for the winds to change direction there several times a day. Nice times and vidios.

i think the reason for the 3rd pass being a little slower was that it dead hooked and dropped more RPM's than the 1st 2 passes on the launch..mph in the 1/8th was off on the 3rd pass,so it happened somewhere at the start..trapped 8.0 @ 85.2 on the first two passes thru the 1/8th and only 8.1 @ 83.9 on the last one

Wow at my home track in Orlando FL it's $15 for a T&T with Unlimited passes. Track isn't preped to amazingly though. Guess you get what you pay for.

Ehh it's getting better since the new 1/8 mile track right here in orlando/kissimmee opened up. All the import guys go there, the last few times I've been to orlando spinworld it has been notably better than before, but yeah compared to Bradenton..............well there is no comparison

Dead hooking aside that thing is bookin, great job with that gt40p headed convertible car .
