I'm on a mission to hit the 9 sec mark on all motor and factory heads. I'm almost there.. besides changing my rear springs this winter for better weight transfer, will start shifting at 6800 rpm still keeping at 7k limiter. Since I have fixed my braking problem forgot to see last time at the track how high I can torque without pushing so I know that will change before then was only leaving at about 2-3k rpm. Anymore ideas??
Do you thing with only 19 runs on the motor that the cap n rotor needs to be changed out for a tuneup?

With regard to the cap & rotor mostly likey it is ok.....
just inspected it closely.......
How old are your tire most often new ones will make a difference...
Don't honestly know how old the tires are. I know there is no dry rotting and the indicators are very well visable. When the car is sitting, it is always on jackstands.
I know your on me about the T-brake but I'm not seeing that pushing me to the mark. Yes I will have better launches but the timer starts when I move regardless how hard right. If I'm foot braking at a higher stall how much of a difference could it really be?

With the t-brake you will have a better 60' which in turn will result in better et's
if you don't know how old the tires are its time to replace them.....
Wow, calculates that much off! I was thinking about replacing the tires but because the indicators were there and no dry rotting I figured they were still okay.
I know that when I bought as a roller the tires only had 10 runs on them. So with my 19 looking at 29 (est.) runs. I've had the car for 4 years.

I had to put it on youtube first in order to show you but this is how I want to come out the hole. No T-brake and barely footbraked it. I do think though that there was plenty of nitrous (purged through the motor)

Reese, was thinking you ran at Joliet but see in your profile you do Bryon. Been scanning in my old slide of the racing down there in the late 60's, used to be a four lane strip. Love to make it down to watch sometime. I was down to Rockford 19 times last year so I'm sure used to the trip. Got some good pictures of a twin turbo's 347 but .............it's in a Ranger.

That's got to be one nice piece of machinery also! Absolutly send some pictures. I'm sending the friend request shortly that way I can let you know the next time (of course next year) I'm going up there.

I would recommend a TB to get those 60's down. What converter stall are you running? What RPM are you crossing the traps at? What RPM are you shifting at? Trust me...you get a TB and launch that sucker at Byron the track will hold it...and if you have had those tire 4 years...GET NEW ONES
Okay on the new tires. I've been reading up on some carb tuning tricks from the 460 boyz so that will be on the list as well.
I know the TB would be my best option and I know that this is not a cheap hobby but I can't "foot" that bill right now so I have to think alternatives.
No one has ever steered me wrong on here and apprieciate the help, BUT.... (Reg.) now I'm determined to do it w/o the TB so that I can say I told you so that I can do it. If it don't happen then I will gladly tell you that I should have listened to you from the start!
So give me two outings to the track next year and if it don't happen in those two, the TB will go in. Wait....... TB or Nitrous?!?! About the same amount of money at this point.

If it's a trans brake or nitrous, I'd also have to say trans brake. If you've never launched with one, once you do for the first time you'll wonder why you never got one before. It's like night and day.

ok your first purchase should be new tires......
it will make a big difference......
the cheapest mod i can think of is fly me up to drive the car i'll put in the 9's for you......
I don't doubt you get the car to run the number foot braking....
I hope you do.......
telling me i told you so will be nothing new
the wife does it all the time......

I agree with Reggie about the new tires. I myself need to get new tires , mine are just about burnt up.Nothing like some good slicks. I am going with full slicks this time and bogarts.
Not sure if the Eibach drag launch kit would help you out. My friend runs one on his 5.0 mustang and it has helped him out on his sixty foot. He runs 45 psi in the air bag,you may need to add more with your power.
