Default Lowering Springs hurting 1/4 times?

Hey folks,
Went to Orlando Speedworld last night and made a few runs. Although my times were way better than my previous best, thanks to the CAI and tune, I still feel I should be running at least high 13's given what I've seen others do with similar motor upgrades. Conditions were great and the track was good. On the launch, I feel like I was right on the edge of the car's capabilities; the tires shuffled but didn't break loose and the motor didn't bog. And although I was a tick slow on the 2-3 shift, it felt like a perfect run.

60ft: 2.216
1/8: 9.319 @ 78.42
1/4: 14.163 @ 103.12

Could my Eibach lowering springs possibly be hurting the weight transfer? I thought it could be my 235 stock Pirellis but I've seen others do better times with similar tires. And I had the pressures down to 23 psi. Thanks for any advice.

Most certainly lowering springs will hurt.....

They do not allow optimum weight transfer do to the nature of their design......

Couple that with your tires and that will explain your less than stellar 60' times........

BTW how was the track prep......

Thanks for the reply.
Bithlo's always a little sketchy but it was suprisingly good compared to a few of the other times I've been there. Since they've had some big events out there recently, I think the prep from that was still hanging in there.

Thanks for the tips guys. Whichever one I choose, I'll probably have to make a weekend of it since both are quite a hike.

So now my next question would be: since I want to keep the springs, the next step would be better tires and/or control arms, right?

Personally I'd just spring for a set of drag tires and rims, put them on at the track

Yup skinnies up front and DR's or Full slicks out back..
I used to love it when dumbass preppy doctor guys would go out to Bradenton test and tune with their shiny new Corvette 350 TPI's with hard as a rock Goodyear Gatorback (remember those?)
all the way around... They'd troll around the pit area looking for guys to line up with them for a friendly race, I remember one guy challenged me in his, I don't even think he had a concept of what a drag slick was so it wasn't a concern to him when he saw my Mickey ET's on the FoxBody long story short, I cruised through the traps 12.15 @ 112+,1.6 60 ft and high 7 1/8th!
I think he went through about 14.4 with a 2.4 60 ft spinning with a mid 9 1/8th, I beat him by like 20 car lengths, hahaha!!
And YES he came over to the pits after and creamed over my car! He was in a pink polo shirt with boat shoes!! hehe!
I should be a Comedy writer, know of anyone hiring??

yes they do hurt...

next time you go, you could remove the front sway bar to help out the transfer as well.

if you watch this vid, you can see how little the front lifts on the launch, car is lowered with Steeda Sportlines.

It's even worse with the FRPP suspension. Mine's flat as a pancake...

One of these days I'm going to get some CJ springs to help it out. I'm just concentrating more on open track right now.
