Default good shifting

I'm new to the whole driving thing. I bought my mustang and its pretty powerful, the guy i bought it off of sooped it up and babyed her. I had to learn to drive stick on her and now that i got the basics, what are the basics of shifting fast, like when racing etc.? thnx for any help

Just keep driving and eventually you will figure it out . Dont rush so fast . It takes alot of seat time in a manual car to make it shift just right . For now I would suggest just cruising until you really have it down . It took me almost a year before I really understood how to work the gears .

practice is good.. however, trying to shift fast with a stock shifter is nonsense

get a hold of a pro 5.0 shifter and you will not be sorry, and you'll be shifting like a pro in seconds - you just can't miss 2nd to 3rd with it, its amazing!
