88 Mustang GT 1st Time Going To The Track.

I got a 1988 Mustang GT, 5-Speed, with an Intake, Straight Pipe no exhaust with Stock Headers, 4.10 Gears, Under Drive Pulley, And an Aftermarket Shifter. I'm going to the track April 3rd at New England Drag Way Its opening weekend and I'm curious on what to expect. I consider my self a pretty good driver and I can get the car off the line what kind of number should I see. Sorry if this isn't a good place to ask but didnt know anywhere else to try asking this question...

tires will make or break your ETs.

It could go 12s on slicks, but if it's on those futura tires in your picture, I'm guessing 14.30 @ 98

I ran 12.91 @ 103 with similar mods, but the Drag Radials and UPR rear suspension were critical to that setup!

thanks guys any more guesses for anyone, I was kind of expecting a low to mid 14 which would satisfy me for an almost completely stock mustang

Probably mid 14's as those tires will kill you specially with 4.10.

the suspension I listed up there eliminates the wheel hop issue.

Check schedule due to weather

Were getting snow on Friday so you want to check the schedule. The Friday and Saturday events are already cancelled.

We could get from 2-10 inches based on storm track. I live about an hour from Epping (location of NED)

even with stock heads and intake manifolds he can run in the 12's on slicks? as we all know they are very restrictive. i figure mid 14's. 13's with slicks.

Thanks for the article. Just renewed my conviction to leave my stock heads on until I have all my aesthetics the way I want them.

I am curious if you took the same car and switched back to street radials how much time the car would lose?

14's all day, if its a full weight car. low 14's if you drive the **** out of the car. with slicks and you launch the car at like 4500+ a little quiker but then your looking at breaking ****. I saw 5 spd/4:10 gearz but didnt see any axle up grade. or clutch. im not dissing your ride in any means bro. but it seams pretty stock other than gears and pullies. and they ran 14:9s stock.. so if your gt is still a full weight car your not going to get much faster just with gears and pullies. know what i mean?? your sure as hell arent going to shave off 2 seconds.

NO way is he gonna run 12's. the car would have to be about 2600/2700lbs and have a decant working suspension to run 12.80/90's stock 5spd with slicks.. look at my signature. thats on a stock 5.0 motor and a 150 hit. but my car is really lite. removal of entire heat/ac, power steering swapped to manual rack, electric fan/H2o, fiber glass hood/deck lid, no pass/rear seat, aluminum D/S, no radio/extra wires, trimmed off extra metal( bumper braces etc..) battery in trunk over pass rear wheel,Bottle over drivers rear wheel, Only run a 1/4 tank dude it goes on and on to run a stock 5.0 that fast... whats his timing going to be at???? pull out that spout and run full advanced timing. 26*/28* . set your timing at 16*(spout out) which is 26* (spout in). throw a couple more lbs of fuel pressure at it too.( if you got an AFPR). Sharad if you ran a 12.91 on a stock motor than you know it takes quite a bit to accomplish that. Way more that gears and slicks..

I say mid 14's to 15.0s .. and I say 15 cuz your gonna have a very hard time with them tires,, air them down to like to like 18lbs and get them hot. go up or down from there with your air pressure.. good luck buddy..
