I'm about to buy this 89 mustang GT 5.0 and i was just wondering what the quarter mile time is for a stock one. it's completly stock but when i get it i plan on doing quite a bit my buddy says 15.0 but he doesn't know for sure so if any one knows the answer then let me know it'll help me a lot thanks

stock automatic about 14.8 - 15. 2 . Stock manual 14.4 - 14.8

how sure are you about those times because 14.4 to 14.8 seems low for a stock manual because either this guy i know doesn't know how to drive or his car is just crappy cuz he only ran a 14.9 lowest but idk i guess i'll find out when i get it and take it up to the track but if anyone else knows 100% or close post the times please

My gt was 100% stock except for an aftermarket replacement exhaust , just to replace a rusted out stocker , and I ran a best of 14.39 with it . A good tune and a good driver can run a 14.4 with a stock manual 5.0 . I'm positive of it .

alot depends on how well the car is tuned . If it's been long enough that you cant remember the last time you tuned the car and you have no clue what the timing is set at , then yeah , I could see a 15.0 slip from a good driver .

these are really fast times, especially for auto. i have an 89 auto conv with 100k.i only have pullies and k&n filter and it does a best of 15.8

A convertible weighs alot more and the auto is not as efficient as the manual .

well...i guess i'll just have to find out for myself when i get it..i'm doing the engine swap on my civic saturday and selling it that week and picking up the mustang sometime the following week and then i'm off to the track but thanks for your replies
