Cut outs and dumps are 2 totally different items
CUTOUTS are usually right after your headers and do not allow the exhaust to continue through your midpipe and then through your mufflers.
PRO: good if you have lots of power
CON: Excessive use will cause VALVE float. Which in turn costs more money
DUMPS: Or turndowns as many call. They are right after the mufflers and usually entail a 90 degree elbow off the muffler. This in turn exits the exhaust towards the ground under the car
PRO: Gives it a deeper tone. (little power gain for me)
CON: Gives it a deeper tone.
I have "dumps/turndowns" on my car. I love it. It actually makes it quiter at the track. But mainly is louder on the inside.
I also have BBK shorty headers, Mac O/r H pipe, and Mac cat back. Well more like Mac mufflers with turndowns now.
