Default Exhaust Dumps/cut Outs

Anyone have previous experience with cut-outs have a sec to fill me in here?
Pro's and con's for dumps in general?
My main issue, is that I went with the dumps my buddy reccomended after the first cat on each side (virtually eliminating 1 cat and 1 resinator on each side,) and although the sound is pretty nice, it feels like I lost a lot off the line. Is it possible it made a noticeable difference or is that all in my head. If it did loose that much torque from less backpressure, wouldn't that be all the more horse thus bettering the top end? I don't know, hopefully you do, i'd just like to know if adding these made my 1/4 faster or slower,
thanks

Cut outs and dumps are 2 totally different items

CUTOUTS are usually right after your headers and do not allow the exhaust to continue through your midpipe and then through your mufflers.
PRO: good if you have lots of power
CON: Excessive use will cause VALVE float. Which in turn costs more money

DUMPS: Or turndowns as many call. They are right after the mufflers and usually entail a 90 degree elbow off the muffler. This in turn exits the exhaust towards the ground under the car
PRO: Gives it a deeper tone. (little power gain for me)
CON: Gives it a deeper tone.

I have "dumps/turndowns" on my car. I love it. It actually makes it quiter at the track. But mainly is louder on the inside.
I also have BBK shorty headers, Mac O/r H pipe, and Mac cat back. Well more like Mac mufflers with turndowns now.

I have actual cutouts on my car. What I did to prevent the valves from burning was replace the cats on a Bassani High Flow X pipe.

I noticed a little bit more pep with the cutouts open. It's also loud as HELL.

You see, the connection between your pipes allows one exhaust pulse to extract another and therefore equalize pressure. This ensures that the exhaust has been scavenged from the engine.

When you open your cutouts, you don't have that connection anymore- the exhaust flies out of both sides. Your car sounds a lot rattier (which I love). There isn't much backpressure- only from the restriction 2 feet of exhaust can provide (which is a measurable amount of restriction).
