Exclamation Important Question Here

First off, I just want to say thanks to all the people who take the time to help answer all these questions. In return, If I see somethin I have experienced and can help with, I will be happy to return the favor.

So anyways, I have a mostly stock 96 Mustang GT(automatic), I have heard alot about the PI upgrades, which essentially update the older 4.6's with the better motor parts the newer 4.6's have (heads, cam ect.) Is it worth doing? If so what PI upgrades are worth the time/money wich are not? What should I be aware of or look for if I go that route? It seems to me that it might be the best way to improve my 96 for far less money that say goin with aftermarket, more expensive parts. I want to keep it street friendly and be able to pass smog, while runnin as fast as possible for the least $.

The other thing is I found some eaton superchargers from the newer cobra's for under $500, and it seems to be a very easy addition, with great bang for the buck. Has anyone here gone that route? Anything you have encountered or heard about that I should know before I try it?

Again thanks a million for taking the time to share any info that might be helpfull...:thumbup

PI swap is highly recommended, but it increases compression so it not very SC friendly, you could intall later a SC but with low boost, 6-8 psi max. Or port the combustion chambers or change pistons to reduce compression if needed.

If i did the PI swap i would do it all at 1 time, cams, heads and intake.

The 2003 Cobra SC is not a direct bolt on to a SOHC 4.6 Liter engine, you will need to adapt or fabricate an intake that is compatible, the Cobra lower intake is different. Other stuff is also needed, a chip, fuel injectors and larger fuel pump. Than and some fabrication.
