Hi, My name is Randy Beck and I just joined this fine forum this morning. I just purchased a 1986 LX Mustang notchback that is in A1 condition. I bought the car with no motor or trans. The car was formerly a 4 cyl / 5 speed car. My plans for the car is to transform it into an 1/8 mile drag car. I am currently drag racing a 1969 Ford F-100 truck powered by a 400+ HP 351w/C6 trans. My best 1/8th mile time in the truck is 8.663 @ 82.680 mph on drag slicks (not bad for a 4000lb brick). As anybody knows who drag races, you just gotta go faster! That's the reason I bought the Mustang. Eventually I will be swapping the 351W from the truck into the Mustang. Unfortunatly the Mustang has the wimpy 7.5" rearend. I am undesided if I want to go with a 9" or the 8.8" rearend at this time. I will be posting on here to ask many question about modifications to the Mustang like subframe connectors, K-member, shock tower brace, ect. I will be stripping the interior from the car which has lots of good parts, like the seats and console, that I will be listing for sale. I am looking foward to talking to you guys and getting much needed info about the Mustang. Randy Beck
