Question Shipping a car from Michigan to Australia

Have any of you guys had experience shipping a car from the States to Oz? If so how did it go? What did it cost? Who did you use? How long did it take? Would you use them again?
If you heard of companies that do this, Please pass on the info.
Any and all input would be appreciated.

From Michigan ! Hmmm, you will have to get it to C.A yourself. From there, you have many choices. Depends how quick you want the car. Most people ship 4 to 6 times a year. I used a private shipper. Cost me around $2,500 AUS including insurance. You can get cheaper and more expensive. If you are a member of MOCA I would ask there first in your state. Otherwise I can give you a few names.

Insurance is the hard part. Make sure you cover your costs. They lose a lot of containers over the side. I personally know of 2 people that have lost cars off ships.

PS : Parts Peddler magazine has a lot of adverts for people who specialise in bringing cars in from the US.
