Default 2005 Mustang V6 1/4 mile times.

I just bought an 05 V6 mustang, and I'm curious what ET's I'll run bone stock. According to Car and Driver my car and do a 15.3, but I find that hard to beleive. So if anyone has taken their 05 V6 down the track lately, please respond and let me know what times u r running.

I had an opportunity to make a run down in Darlington earlier this year. Air temperature around 70F. Air was pretty dense so I figured I'd have a decent time.
I had 3 runs and my best was 14.7 with a trap speed of 98.87MPH. I ran stock tires but played with the air pressure a bit.
My only mods are the SCT X Cal with a 93 Octane tune, a MAC CAI and a JBA axleback. I figure with a little tweaking and a decent set of gears I hope to bust into the mid 13's. This is not exactly "Bone" stock as I have made a few minor mods. However, 15.3 is very realistic right out of the box.

i Have a bone stock V6. I got it about a month ago and took it down the track for 3 runs.My first 2 runs had my g/f in it and a few other weight additives. My 3rd and final run was by myself and some weight additives. Next time I go to the track I am taking the air filter out.

Run 1: R/T .102 1/8: 10.4 1/4: 16.0
Run 2: R/T .014 1/8 10.2 1/4 15.8
Run 3: R/T .048 1/8 10.0 1/4 15.6

I would have run once more and tried a different RPM launch. But, the shift throw is so long. I am ordering a Rousch short shifter kit and getting a new knob. My knob kept sliding (spinning) and I would slip and take longer to shift. On my rate and only owning if for a few weeks, I bet 15.4 is realistic.

I raced a 2005 GT, automatic, girl driving. pretty good. But, how hard is it to push the gas pedal? She was running 13.9's. The only thing I won was the Best RT for that night. Hope this helps. I am going back in 2 weeks to take my air filter out, lower the air pressure a TINY bit, and see what I get then. i am 19 years old. I do not consider myself a GREAT dirver but, pretty good. Let us know how you do.

Ant, I would strongly recommend that you not let your g/f hear you call her a "weight additive." LOL

I took mine to the local track. I have a lot of stereo stuff in for extra weight and it started to rain just after my second pass. I only got 2 passes in but they are both 16.35ish. I have never dragged on the strip before and that was my first and second time ever. I don't know what the density was and all that but it was a cold day and I live in edmonton alberta canada.
