Default 1st time to track on new combination.

Took the 65 FB (347 CI. 12.1 C/R) out for the 1st time last Saturday to do some N/A testing. It was like driving a completely diferent car. With the new Edel. Victor Jr's from TEA and the Super Victor intake, the power band had moved way up. Hit the rev limiter immediately. Shift point was way too low.
In the old combo the car came out of the hole hard but ran out of air at the top end. Now it comes out of the hole much softer, but above 5000RPM it really starts to pull hard. Shift point was moved up to 8000, launch RPM lowered to 4600 seemed to be the best settings for the day. With 10 minutes running time on the motor (and I am sure the rings are not seated yet) it went 10.72 at 125.29. With the changes in launch and shift RPM's it went a best of 10.65 @ 126.79. After getting back home, I checked plugs and they look great...all identical.
Considering no break in time, and running a cam designed specifically for N2O, I think it went OK.
Next week? 100horse shot?

The important thing is, are you happy with it?
sounds like a new toy to stomp some F-bodies... or imports (R-bodies as I call em)

Am I happy with it...well, not really. If you consider the changes made, in my opion it should be a bit quicker. From out of the box Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads to a TEA CNC'd head, and from a basically out of the box Victor Jr. intake to a Super Victor that was hand massaged until the runners were perfect, it should have picked up more.
But I will give it some time. Need to play with timing, jetting, maybe loosen the converter a bit, move up a carb size and maybe go to a 4.86 gear...who knows...

BTW there are no imports in the S/Pro class yet...
