im new to drag racing and racing in general, i just need some tips.
i have a 2005 V6 Mustang with upgraded GT wheels, Manual Tranny


i need tips on launching. like what rpm do i rev it at.. or do i even rev it? and when reving should it be in 1st gear already with the clutch all the way down? or should it be in neutral while reving it with the clutch down the shifitng into 1st and letting go of the clutch? .. i need tips on all the basics. also i have questions on shifting.. when should i shift? should i wait till i get close to redlining then shift? thanks so much everyone

HI,

This is what i would do,

I would rev it to 2500 to 3000 rpm when launching. You will want to be in 1st gear, withe the clutch psuh in, when the you ready togo let the clutch out and go for it, shifting i would do 5000 to 5500 rpm.

The big thing is to get sometime in at the track, it up to you to find out were and when to shift and at what rpm to do it at.

I also just started to drag race and love it, fun fun fun.....
