The swap is possible but there are things to look out for. let me see if I can dig up some old info for you.

Default the swap made easy.

Its not a very hard swap to do. I have done this same swap in my 86.
You will need to look for headers. I know that hooker makes a set. then you will also need the oil pan, pick up tube and pump. luckly jegs carries that also. another thing you will need is the ford motorsports engine mount kit.
all of this is bolt on. with a few minor adjustments to the steering shaft. on mine i had to do some modifications to it so that the headers wouldnt hit the knuckle. the easyest way to do the swap is to put the headers in place first, then the transmission up into place. after that then put the engine. if you are using the c-6 like i did you will have a problem putting it in after the engine is in place. also change your shifter and modify it before putting it in. you will need a custom drive shaft i dont remember the measurements on mine. the valve cover on the dr. side will set really close to the brake booster. dont worry it will fit. the only thing to consider is how much hood will you need to make the thing enclosed. Mine sets up nicely with a 5" cowl. you shouldnt have to remove the front sway bar because the fms mounts give you enough room for it to clear and function properly. you will have approxiamatly 4-41/2" between the water pump and radiator. so you will need a good after market cooling fan. one with a pan cake motor will work really good. as they have a smaller width to leave a little space. Your front springs will need some change as the car will gain alot of front weight. and occasionly bottom out on some bumps. I used springs from an 81 that had inline 6 in it and have no problems now. i hope this helps you out a little bit. if you have any questions feel free to post up again. and i will try to answer it. Oh yeah the motor i used is on with all the factory acces. from the donor car. the alt, the p/s pump and water pump. it will fit between the inner fenders. you will need to relocate the fuel lines as well. but that should do it for you. ok.
need any more help let me know.
chris
