Default questions about drag car requirements

im pretty new to drag racing and im wondering about a few things.

1) where do you have to run the main fuel line and battery cables? under the car or through the firewall?

2) does every part i buy for the drivetrain and chassis have to be SFI approved for a 10 sec. car?

3) is a 10 point rollcage enough for a 10 sec. car or do i need a 12 point?

any help is appreciated. thanks.

Default Drag Racing rules and requirements.

Hey, welcome to the sport. Drag Racing is a kick, and a good family sport. I would suggest joining the NHRA or the IHRA. The NHRA is the larger sanctioning body of the two. But both Associations General Safety Rules are very similar. Phone # for NHRA is (626)914-4761. I am not sure of IHRA's #. As for running fuel line, I would certainly keep them out of the cars interior. I have run Battery cable through interior, just be sure to route and insulate well. Also you want to be very careful where your stock brale lines are routed. Early Mustangs had them running down the driveshaft tunnel, not too secure if you have some driveline breakage!! Join us! And never be afraid to ask a question! Desret Dale.

o.k. first off you can run your lines under the car or through the fenderwell. 2nd yes, everything has to be SFI approved. 3rd a 6pt rollcage is all you need for 10's, dip into the 9's and you'll need a 10. Tom
