i plan on running at my local track and was wondering if i need to use an ''aproved'' battery disconect switch.i plan on mounting on my rear bumper so i wanted to do it right the first time.is there a list on approved switches?? thanks for any help.and are there different switches that are approved by the nmra than the nhra??

Default nmra-nhra

Hope this helps. The NMRA pretty much is in line with the NHRA, as to safety regulations etc. They differ after that as to classes( such as NMRA has no Top/Fuel). I would spend the money and join the NHRA, as well as the NMRA. Lots of benefits to being an NHRA member, insurance while you are racing at an NHRA strip for example. Their rule books are easy to understand and tech help is available on line or by phone if you are not sure about somthing. Master battery shut offs, their are quite a few out there. Moroso makes one that is Mustang specific, and you may like that one. Good luck and keep it shiny side up, and rubber side down!! Desert Dale.

You will not need a shut of unless you relocate the battery Pr. NHRA rules. If you did relocate it then summit and jeggs offer a wide variety. We use a push off style easier of shut off in an emergency
