What do you think of this set up. Stock bottom end 5.0 with just a re-ring and re-bearing job. Stock crank and rods. A set of AFR 185's. A GT-40 intake with ported lower. I'm thinkin 65mm TB and spacer. Mac equal lenght headers. A stock cam with 1.6 rockers or a mild cam because it's speed density. This is all goin throught a t-5 and off-road H with Flowmasters. A set of 3.55s. I'm leaning towards slicks also to get that low 12 time. Do you think this is a possibility?
yeah, get some smaller heads, the 165's would work good, theyd work better for your rpm range.

ALL of this was done by myself....including the porting and gea
those 185's are def too big for your setup unless you are planning on throwing a SC into the mix. i agree with the other guys, a set of 165's will do you more justice.
Yeah, my combination has changed. Now i am working with DSS Pro Bullet 306 short block, afr 165s, scorpion 1.6 rockers, and custom cam thanks to Ed Curtis. Working on building a diff for it. Goin with 3.90 gears and strange axles and eaton center. With stock intake and TB and clutch on ET streets I smoked the clutch to a 13.600 at 101. The clutch is trashed. Second run the car went 14.4. Even slipped worse. Fixing the whole clutch thing with a Spec II and light weight flywheel (not aluminum). With tuning hope to be in high 11s, but weight might keep me in the 12s. Looking for an LX to put my drivetrain in.
