Question need advice on launching an automatic...

Hi everyone,

I've never been to a track before but plan on going to one soon, any racing ive done has been street. (not the same i know)

I was wondering if any of you would mind giving me some advice on properly launching an automatic?

Do I put it in drive and rev while holding the brake? Turn off OD? Rev in Neutral?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, just please be detailed.

Thank you

DONT REV IN NEUTRAL!! thats called a netrual drop...thats what i did so i had an excuse to swap in a 5 speed.

your best bet is too put it in low and stomp on the brakes, hol dhtem and rev the engine as much as you can then when you want to shift, put it in the next speed. just amke sure to shift early enough so you dont bounce it off the rev limiter
