Question 1980 Mustang Rear Shocks Which Are Best For Drag Racing?

Hi, I have a pair of new gas shocks and a pair of gabriel hijacker air shocks. I wanted to know which ones are best for drag racing. The airs have a hard stiff ride but would they be good at the track, or would they make things worse? Just want to get the best launch possible. I'm runnin' 8.8 posi, 4.10, 31 spline, 1980 mustang, boxed in aftermarket rear control arms, MT street drag radials. Please answer. Thank You

Default shocks

you want the rear to be soft so the car squats and transfers all the weight to the rear tires

Don't go too soft though, you'll waste energy on the car pushing the suspension down rather than going forward.

Well I was running the gas ones and the tires rubbed on turning so I got those off before going down the track. Could have been an ugly situation at launch...lol. I think I am going to go with some coil overs when I get the bread, that way I can adjust ride height too. Do you remove the old coils when doing this? What about the front coil over kits? Remove the old coils?
