I got a 1999 Convertible Stang V6 Auto with just basic mods which include CAI w/ K&N, B&M Shift Kit, True Dual Exhaust, and T-Lok, and i am planning on putting my car on the bottle just a Dry 50 shot. But once i get that installed i would like to take it to see what it a run in the 1/4 mile but since it has an auto tranny do i put it down in first gear then shift up to drive or should i just keep it in drive and let the car do the shifting?? I am new to drag racing never done it at track before

Oh also do i put the O/D on or what?? Not even totally sure what that does.

with my gt the car never gets past 3rd gear so id just turn od off.

from what iv bin told you should let the tranny shift itself....if you dont like the shift points you can always run a stand alone tranny computer like the one i got from becontrols.com.

Thanks wayne94mustang. I got a B&M Shift kit that i installed in the tranny for quicker shifts and man that thing helped a lot it spins the wheels in second gear and the shifts are a lot harder it through's you in the seat its awesome. Once my nitrous kit gets installed i cant wait to take it to the track to see what i run.
