Default Location, Location, Location

I've only raced my car at Bradenton Motor Speedway in FL...I recently moved up to Columbus, OH and have yet to hit up National Trails...however, the SN95's I met up here really disappoint me..they're modified 5.0's run slower than my stock auto 4.6!!

Which gives me the confidence to go out with them..

But from what I hear, & I'm not totally stupid..I understand there's some truth behind this..

The distance above/below sea level has a huge affect on it! My best time in FL was a 15.0 1/4 mile, from what I hear I'll be lucky to run a 15.3 up here!

*Yes I'm aware that 15's are extremely SLOW!*

So this is just ppl talking, but I'd like to know how much of an affect does the location have on your track times? Hopefully not 3-5 seconds! Thats LaMe!!!

Here's one fer ya:

The Higher the elevation you are at, the less air there is to be inducted into your engine.

Just ask anybody that lives in Denver, there cars have got to be the slowest out of all of ours.

Then on the flip side you have Phoenix, with a very favorable elevation, but the air is 115 degrees.

It is INCREDIBLE here between October and April though...

Altitude plays a huge role in drag racing, especially for N/A cars. And density altitude (which also considers temp, humidity and barometric pressure) is important as well. To get an idea of an altitude correction factors, take a look here: Altitude Correction by Wallace Racing

And here is a technical discussion on density altitude: Equations - Air Density and Density Altitude
