I was running quicker times than a Mustang GT500 at the track last night.
At the track last night a 2007 GT500 showed up and was only able to muster up a best of 13.42 at 107 mph(with the traction control on-with it off he ran a 14.40). Compared to my 13.11 at 106.77 mph.(at 2200 ft above sea level.) We didn't get to do a pass beside each other which sucked. The track was way too busy.
Every one I've seen at the track can't hook on street tires. I'm still waiting for one to show up with some track tires so we can have a good race.

i was at t/t nite @ prp(pa.) and i am always amazed with the cars/trucks people are running. last nite i ran beside a dodge cummins w/turbo.7000 lb. truck ran 11.90!!! talked to him after,truck produces about 1250ft/lb of torque.
I have over 500 hp and only ran a 12.9. My first and only time at a track. I forgot to shift into fourt gear the rev limitor was making popcorn all the way down and my reaction time was .731. I will try it again one of these days. And I had fun.

Makes me feel like a kid every time.
I think for everything the GT500s gain in torque and bhp, they lose as much in weight at the front. Also, aftermarketblowers seem to put out 460-80 bhp, but thats at full rpm when you are changing so I dont think you get as much real world oomph as you might expect
they had a GT500 at our track a couple weeks ago' still had the paper plate on it . His best run that I was able to watch was 13.34 don't remember the speed. He was spinning like crazy off the line on street tires.

With out DR's or slicks, they won't get that great of a time. Also if they've never launched a car with that much power before, or first time at the track, with street radials, they will have crappy times, also mentioned, they do weight almost 4000lbs, that's why stock for stock a 505hp ZO6 will beat one.
